SHORT BREAK SERVICES

Short Break Services

What we offer:

We provide support to families who need a break from their constant caring role. The aim is to provide carers “Short-Break” that enables them to have respite from their non-stop caring responsibilities of their disabled family members.

Our Services:

  • Home Based Respite:
This short-term support is provided to the clients either in a residential setting or in their own homes. The main focus is on companionship and conversation which helps to prevent social isolation and increases the well being of our clients. It also provides the opportunity for clients to gain support in undertaking household task such as cleaning, laundry and ironing and provides extended support to them to attend appointments and/or events such as religious activities, social clubs or/and visiting family and friends.
  • Residential Respite:
The Residential Respite provides break for the carers away from their homes in a nice and exiting environment every year for a week. It provides a change in their surroundings and the opportunity to meet new people and do different things. The trip normally consists of 40-45 parents/carers with excellent accommodation, food and lodging.
  • Summer Day Trips:
Six (6) Day Trips during summer school holiday takes place every year for service users, parents/carers and for their family. The aim is to provide with excellent opportunity for our clients to undertake activities in various different locations like Seas Sides, Theme Parks, Fruit Farms, Animal and Adventure Parks etc.

The service helps users be in a different environment from home. They get to meet and socialise with others in the same situation as them. It also provides respite for carers so that they get a break from caring for our clients and have time for themselves.

Our aim is to help women to be more independent and build up their self- esteem.  We draw up a plan according to individual women’s needs. Our team at the Brady centre work closely with them to meet their targets.

The activity that we get them involved includes:

Familiarisation of childhood skills:

Playing games, colouring, drawing and other modes of children’s enjoyment.
